Hear townspeople of Jefferson Mississippi:
I know that all of you must think that I am insane after the discovery that you have made. But none of you really know how my life has been and what took me to do what I did. I want you to read and reflect on the story of a person and after reading it, you can feel free to think and judge me however you want.
This story is about a woman that since her childhood the only person that she really knew and came in contact with was her father. He kept her totally secluded and away from the real world. He tried to protect her from the outside world and he never realized what harm he was causing her in her future life. By alienating her, she was never able to enter and evolve herself in the normal life of a society. That is why she became a total mystery to the townspeople and that brought curiosity from them, because they knew almost nothing about her. Consequently, she became the center of all gossip. You can read more here — http://moriammazzolly.edublogs.org/2019/04/03/battles-and-battle-techniques-essays/
After her father`s death, she became emotionally unstable due to the fact that he was the only person that influences her throughout her life. For three days she refused to accept his death, she could not let anybody dispose of his body, but eventually she came to her senses and let her father rest in peace. I know that at this moment you might think that she was starting to go insane, but do not look at it that way. She was not going crazy.
At that moment the only thing that she did not want to feel was a deep sense of loneliness. And this is the reason why she could not accept his death and wanted to keep his body close to her. After this, she looked herself in an obscure dark world. When she decided to go out again, she felt a deep sense of fear and insecurity, because she had never been exposed to the world and she felt that everybody was looking and talking about her. But she did it! - Comments: 0

Under the Feet Of Jesus - 28 Feb 2019 12:12

In Helena Maria Viramontes‘, ""Under the Feet of Jesus"", historical factors play an integral role in depicting life as a migrant laborer. Capitalism, colonialism, racialization, as well as exploitation are a few of the forces that prove to be important in mediating the political, social, and cultural conditions of Mexican Immigrant labor. In the case of ""Under the Feet of Jesus"", those conditions are portrayed through the struggles of Estrella and her migrant family.
The effects of colonialism are seen at work in Viramontes` novel. Just as the indigenous tribes of Mexico were marginalized by the Spanish, Estrella and the rest of the field laborers were being marginalized by America. After the Great Depression struck, millions of Americans were left unemployed with no source of income to sustain themselves, or their family. Politically and socially, Mexican laborers were targeted as the problem and they began to be viewed as an infestation, an infestation of aliens whom were taking American jobs from American people. Due to the pressures of unemployment the United States government began the process of repatriation. Repatriation, resulted in thousands of Mexican-Americans being deported, among those departed were US born Mexicans. Throughout the novel, Estrella expresses her fear of being sent back home to her native country. Estrella’s fears of being harassed or deported also point to her racialized status even though a citizen of the United States, she is labeled as an alien. Estrellas fears are addressed by Petra one night:
""If they stop you, if they try to pull you into the green vans, you tell them the birth certificates are under the feet of Jesus, just tell them…Tell them que tienes una madre aqui. You are not an orphan, and she pointed a red finger to the earth, Aqui."" (Viramontes 63)
The same fears that repatriation instilled in Estrella are the same fears that were felt by other field workers in the 130&… " - Comments: 0

Montague vs. Capulet ,"Two households, both alike in dignity… from ancient grudge break to new mutiny."

The Montague and Capulet families have an ancient and inexplicable squabble amid them. Within these two houses` relationships lie, either in the same family or between the two. The kinships that rise during the duration of the play that are among the two families` are more secure than the ones in the same family. In the play, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, many relationships among the many characters are in effect.

The relationships lie between two extremities, from being steadfast love relationships to being superficial relationships. In the play, the three relationships that cover these two extremes as a whole involve Romeo and Juliet, the Nurse and Juliet, and Romeo and Rosaline.

"What`s in a name?…" In this dramatic tragedy a lot is in a name. It is impossible for a Capulet and a Montague to have a serious love relationship because of the hostility betwixt the two houses. The animosity midst the Capulets and Montagues sets the reason for all the altercations that are at large in the city of Verona."

My love sprung from my only hate!" Of the many men in Verona Juliet falls in love with a man from the opposite auxiliary. This kinship is particularly stronger than others because of the controversies of Capulets and Montagues, and if the relationship isn`t strong then it will diminish. Both of the participants in this union benefit greatly in numerous ways.

In the beginning of the play, Romeo falls in love with anything that strolls in front of him, which precisely describes his connection with Rosaline. His love for women was merely a superficial affection. As the play moves on, Romeo begins to fall in love with Juliet, a love deeper and authentic than prior endearments. Romeo goes from one extreme, having a shallow desire to be in love,to the other, having a massive and intense. My name is ………………. and I am looking forward to graduate this year. As a senior I have already decided what I want to do after graduating high school. I want to major in computer science in order to be a computer programmer. I choose George Mason University as my collage because it has the right kind of classes which will help me to become a successful computer programmer. Since my childhood days, I always had an interest on computers and I always wanted to learn more programs and features. Every time when new software and programs came out, I got really excited and used to save money to purchase the software.

My cousin who is also a computer programmer inspires me to go in this field till this day. My dream job is to be a computer programmer which involves the act of designing, writing, testing, debugging and maintaining software programs of computers. Along with this, a person has to analyze tasks for programs, plan and organize programs, write instructions in programming language, conduct trial runs for programs and consult with superiors for the effective use of program software. Programmers spend most of their time in front of computers, typing information and thinking about new and innovative ways to design programs.

A computer programmer can earn up to $110,000 annually or even more for senior programmers and independent consultants whereas the starting salary can be $40,000. Programming is very important and it impacts human lives because without the proper programming people cannot run complex medical equipment, advanced computer systems in airplanes, weather forecasting and many more advanced systems. Currently I am taking one computer class in school which is programming. In my junior year I took two computer classes: Webpage development and Information systems. Taking these classes will be helpful to me when I get into the university.

I am also planning to take other related subjects in programming outside of school during summer. Also during my spare time, I usually go up online and research about my career. I have to work much harder than now while studying in the university. If I get good grades, hopefully, I will be able to find a good internship where I can prove myself. I will gain many valuable working skills while I am an intern which will help me in the job industry. I am also ready to work irregular and long hours if I get a job in this field. As I love travelling, travelling different places to help my clients would not be a problem to me.

I love the challenges present in this field and I will also be able to make people’s life easier by developing new programs to help people in their work. The only concern regarding my career is that advanced computers are developing every day. Till the time I find a job, the knowledge that I have gained may not be useful in that time. So, I will also be taking various programming classes from time to time to update my knowledge regarding software and programming. . I hope that attending GMU and setting my career as a Computer Programmer will be a right decision for me.

The Ethics of Journalism - 20 Jul 2018 09:02

Many people are alarmed about the state of journalism. Polls have been indicating more and more that the audience is wondering how honest and fair journalists are.

In the 180s there were several unusual violations to journalism. Reporters were caught making up parts or all of their stories. In one case, a woman given journalism`s highest honor, a Pulitzer Prize, had to give it back when they found out that her main character in the prize-winning story didn`t exist.

Accuracy, to the ethical journalist, has a special meaning and close doesn`t count. Accuracy is the highest of the principles of the ethical journalist, and it means that every bit of information printed has to be exact; spelling, facts, names, places, quotes, etc. Even the smallest mistake cuts into the journalist`s credibility.

Another of the journalist`s highest principles is objectivity. This is the state of mind that journalists acquire to make them fair, neutral observers of events and issues. They cannot express personal feelings, likes or dislikes to color news stories. Journalists should always seek to provide the audience with unbiased accounts of the news. The journalist who vows to do so has taken a longfirst step to the road to professionalism.

Accuracy and objectivity are by no means the only principles a journalist must live by. They also have to be sure to have good taste. They can`t put sexually explicit material in newspapers or magazines and must seek understatement, not overstatement. They must avoid profanity and they cannot invade the privacy of others or glorify bad behavior.

Journalists must be sure to show fairness to all. Everyone in the audience has an equal right to expect to be treated fairly, regardless of race, color, philosophy, religion, gender, age, or economic status. They should never apply different standards to different people or groups. - Comments: 0

Analysis of Game of War: Live Action Trailer - 02 Jul 2018 15:31

"Game of War: Live Action Trailer is a short commercial for the mobile application, Game of War: Fire Age. The trailer is part of a multi-million-dollar campaign for the video game that features supermodel Kate Upton. It uses Upton‘s beauty and sex appeal as she commands soldiers into war in make-believe settings like those found in HBO`s Game of Thrones. The following essay is a rhetorical analysis of the situation so as illustrate the advertisement is successful in using Upton`s sex appeal to draw in a male audience.
Machine Zone, the creators of Game of War: Fire Age, have taken mobile games marketing to a new level when they decided to use model Kate Upton as the game`s ambassador. This is apparent in the game`s trailer which could be easily be mistaken for an action movie sequel. In the midst of battling troops and dragons that breathe fire, Upton emerges from the massacre. She casually looks at the camera and states come and play with me,"" in a voice that has a heavy sexual undertone (Dave). Upton is also in the actual game where she is characterized by Athena, the game`s host. The advertisement can be examined from a rhetorical view so as to illustrate how the use of a supermodel ambassador has managed to draw in a largely male audience. A rhetorical situation is one which certain factors influence how a story or message is created. In this particular situation (the advertisement), a beautiful woman was used to draw in male viewers since young men form the biggest percentage of video game players. In order to understand this video, one needs to comprehend the fact mentioned above. The following section will analyze the trailer through some rhetorical aspects.
The motivation of the advertisement is to draw in male viewers so that they will download the game. Kate Upton’s sensuality entices men and boys to download the smartphone video game that is free-to-play (Dave). - Comments: 0

Graffiti - 22 Jun 2018 09:02

Chicano political activists began using graffiti to make statements. Chicanos used graffiti to tell about their history, their family unity, and their bicultural pride. Chicanos also used their graffiti to unify the Chicano community during the Chicano Movement. Eventually this led to architectural decoration, murals to remember the deceased, personal shout-outs and gang`s territorial markings. This paper will discuss the elements of graffiti and how it is used today.

It is unfortunate that graffiti should be dismissed as mere vandalism on par with tire slashing and window breaking, because for many young people who often exhibit considerable talent, graffiti constitutes an aesthetic discipline. Graffiti has existed in one form or another as long as writing. The earliest known cave paintings, dating from 20,000 years ago, seems to have more in common with modern graffiti than with writing because they were mostly drawings of their surroundings.

When Henry Chalfant's documentary film, Style Wars, came out in 1985, graffiti, break dancing and rap music were all seen as elements of hip hop culture. It was in this context that it spread.A Chicago graffiti writer Orko said, ;We swallowed it as a whole package: breaking, rapping, DJing and graffiti together. We never split them apart. "Orko goes so far as to claims that "Graffiti is the center of hip hop. That's why the best MCs were all graffiti writers: KRS-One, Rakim."

Graffiti is a vivid and tangible urban artifact, signaling, at the very least, the writer's disrespect for the institution of private property and his/her willingness to take risks. There is a trend, especially in California, toward full-scale productions featuring elaborate scenes and characters, which are easier to appreciate.More often, a writer's mission seems to be able to find an honorable place in the cadre of writers, by writing the tag-name as often, in as many places, and as skillfully as he can. - Comments: 0
